Standard straight flanges are designed to fit the nipple, and pull on the nipple and stretch it until milk comes out. Pumpin’ Pal flanges are tapered, so fit depends not just on nipple size, but on tissue elasticity, too, allowing considerably more tissue to be involved in the process (much like your baby does, he/she does not just pull on the nipple until milk flows).

Please Note: 2XS, XS and Small flanges are silicone; Medium, Large, and XL flanges are hard polypropylene.

Our silicone flanges account for elasticity of the skin, a more important indicator of fit than the size of the breast. Most moms find that this is THE SET, regardless of size.

While our silicone angled flanges are found to be more comfortable for many pumping parents, there is an additional benefit for those who experience issues with elastic nipples.

Pumpin' Pal silicone flanges (2XS, XS, S) were created with Elast+Assist Technology (EAT). The inside surface is designed to retain a slightly tacky surface that prevents elastic tissue from getting pulled too far down the tunnel, eliminating constricted milk ducts and allowing milk to flow freely.

Recommendations for Using Pumpin' Pal Silicone Flanges with Elastic Nipples:

• Preserve the tacky surface of your flanges by hand washing only, using warm water and our Foamin’ Flange Wash or any grease-cutting dish soap that doesn't leave a residue.
• Avoid using the flanges with lubrications or lotions as they may reduce the effectiveness of the EAT.

• Handwashing is recommended, using warm water and our Foamin’ Flange Wash or a grease-cutting dish soap that doesn't leave a residue.
• Dishwasher safe (top-rack only) — however, most dishwasher detergents can leave a residue and cause cloudiness.
• Parts can be boiled, but do not let them sit at the bottom of the pan.
• After first use, parts can be steamed in steam bag (only 2-3 minutes necessary).

Please Note: Exposure to heat from stovetop or microwave once water has boiled away can result in parts melting and becoming deformed.

DO NOT USE UV sterilizers on silicone flanges! Silicone may become hard and crack.
